If you’ve been accused of misconduct at work or asked to attend a disciplinary meeting, and are worried that you might lose your job, you may be feeling like you should just resign.

If you can get good advice and act reasonably, there is often the ability to get a much better outcome.  Even if you are dismissed, you will want to maximise your entitlements and prevent it from affecting your chances of getting another job.

Ask that any allegations against you are written down and provided before the disciplinary meeting. That way you can get advice on how you will best respond to the allegations.

Get advice on your contract of employment and any employer policies that apply. Early advice may help with any potential unfair dismissal action.
