If you’ve been terminated because your employer doesn't want anyone to perform your job anymore, you are redundant and may be entitled to extra termination payments under your contract, enterprise agreement, award or the National Employment Standards.

Your employer may have offered you an alternative position and said that you are not entitled to redundancy pay.

You can receive advice before you decide whether to accept the alternative position and what effect this will have on your entitlement to redundancy pay.

If your employer is bankrupt or has gone into liquidation and hasn't been able to pay your entitlements or redundancy pay, you may also be eligible for assistance and the Commonwealth Government’s Fair Entitlements Guarantee.
